No better way to spend Thanksgiving around family, watching football, and stuffing my face fuller then Monica Lewinsky. It's good to spend some time reflecting on how fortunate I am to have an amazing family. But as I sat watching Dallas miss a last minute field goal to tie the game I thought about all I'm thankful for. Not the basic people and things we all say broadly without much thought, but things and people I couldn't function without and I owe so much to...so here are a few.
1. My Grandma and Grandpa. I'm not sure what I would do without these two people. They do anything and everything for me. I'm not sure if my grandpa has missed a baseball game of mine in 3 years and dinner/lunch is almost a guarantee after. Grandma's cooking is second to none and shes there to give you a simple but thoughtful hug just when you need it most.
2. Parents. They can be the people I hate most in the world sometimes, but everything they do is in my best interest and that's something you have to respect.
3. Brothers. I can't imagine living without any brothers. They keep my life exciting and have made me the competitive person I am. Each one of us would take a bullet for the other, there are no 3 other people in the world I would rather go to war with.
4. My god given talents. Hard work is only part of the equation. I have the privilege to see people everyday who work their ass off to get what I have but because they weren't blessed with what I have will never get there. It keeps me humble and wanting to work harder for those who are less fortunate.
5. Sports. They consume my life. They give me a reason to get out of bed every morning in the hopes of doing something special. As "The Common Man" says, "Sports sports sports!! Your whole life is all about sports." Yes I'm a rube.
There are so many more but I have to get up at 5 tomorrow to catch the bus to Two Harbors for hockey so i better get to bed.
Adios Amigos-Ty
im thankful for you
